Saturday July 5th 2008 saw the first ever Superlap event held at Sydney's Oran Park raceway. Advan had 4 cars entered in this year’s event.
GRACER made a long awaited appearance in the street tyred class and had an event free day of racing.
John Bright and Craig Burgess were entered in their black GTR which towards the end of the day had an unfortunate mishap with the wall. John was fine but as can be seen the pics, the car was a little worse for wear.
Kevin Whitehead had his R32 GTR entered and enjoyed an event free day.
Paul Johnstone had a few troubles throughout the day. First being the inability to complete scrutineering due to the fuel system not being enclosed. This was fixed by Paul and Cookie with a sheet of stainless steel and some silver tape. Unfortunately towards the end of Pauls first session the car suffered a minor electrical problem which ruled them out for the rest of the day.
All in all it was a great day of racing which was enjoyed by all. We look forward to the next event.
